In our community work, we often meet elderly people who have been confined to their homes because of
blindness. The greatest struggle for most of these senior citizens is the loneliness and the sense of
isolation that they feel because of their confinement.
To help meet this special need, one of our staff, Pastor Ibanez, who is blind himself, has been assigned as a traveling pastor for homebound elderly blind.
He makes regular circuits through the provinces of Tarlac, Pangasinan, Nueva Ecija, and Pampanga.
Besides his pastoral role, he is also able to arrange for special training or care. In most cases though, he
simply shares words of encouragement and hope found in the scriptures. This alone may meet the greatest
need that these people have.
