Very few blind persons are totally blind. Most have some degree of usable vision. Rather than learning how
to read braille, they may best be helped with a simple magnifier that will enable them to read print.
For others, changes in contrast or color may be all that is needed to make print readable. Dr. Joy Lim, our
staff optometrist, has undergone special training in New York in order to provide the best kind of help
for our low vision patients. Besides offering services by appointment at our center, Dr. Lim also regularly
visits schools to provide assistance to low vision students.
