Resources for the Blind
Blindness in the PhilippinesProjects and ProgramsWays You Can Help

This question, asked of Jesus 2000 years ago, is still being asked by almost every family that blindness strikes. Our rehabilitation specialists try to help families see that God is not punishing them with blindness, but is instead ready to help them in dealing with the difficulties that they will face. Our focus is on helping them fulfill all the potential that they have in God. In the process, they will discover that blindness does not lessen their value or usefulness in the sight of God.

Perhaps the greatest difficulty that the blind person will face will be the misconceptions of other people about what a blind person can or cannot do. Most families tend to be overprotective and insist on doing everything for the one who is blind. This can create a crippling dependency that will hinder the return to a normal life. Part of our work is to counsel with family members in order to help the blind person to live a fully normal life.
