More than anything else, blind children want to be able to go to school. They have normal intelligence and
can learn as easily and as quickly as any other child their age. They have hopes and dreams for the future
and they know that going to school will help make those dreams come true.
Unfortunately, for many thousands of blind children, going to school is still only a dream. Even though
they may be very bright and even gifted, most of these children are left at home day after day, month
after month, year after year, while their sighted brothers, sisters, and friends go off to school. This
creates a double handicap for these children. Already blind, they will become uneducated, illiterate blind
adults.
At Resources for the Blind, we are keenly aware of the lost potential for these children. We are looking
for sponsors who are willing to help them go to school. For only P475 per month or P5700 pesos per year, (U.S. $150 for overseas
donors), you can help ensure that your sponsored child will get an education. In return, we will send a
profile and a picture of your child, along with regular updates on your child's progress.
You can truly make a difference in a blind child's life in this way. Some of our sponsors have been able to
help a blind child go all the way from first grade through high school. By doing so, they have dramatically
changed the lives and futures of their sponsored children.
